At a time when Americans are resisting the construction of AI data centers and registering their displeasure with generative artificial intelligence (AI), music executives Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine went the other way, endorsing the use of AI to create music in a recent New York Times interview. While Iovine mused that Big Tech would not have experienced such intense pushback from the public if they had only marketed AI correctly, Dr. Dre chose to belittle artists who refused to use AI in their creative endeavors.
